New School Scrapbook Class

On Friday, February 24th from 6-8 or Saturday, February 25th from 10-noon will be the first school scrapbook class. This is a new class series that I am offering at Hobby Lobby. All the layouts will be school themed. You will make two double layouts (4 pages) for $15. I will provide all the materials. You will need scissors, adhesive, and a roll of red sticky tape. There are pockets with each layout for all those fun school things you want to hang on too!!

Upcoming Cards for Classes

Christmas Tags

I am really into tags right now!! They are so fun and easy to make!! Also a great way to use your scraps. I have decided to make them for all my gifts this Christmas, that's why I've started so early. The stamp sets I have used here are from Stampin' Up!, Delightful Decorations (116517) and Bells and Boughs (121142).

To get this look, first stamp the image with stazy on, then color it in using blender pens or watercolors, and last outline it with a marker. It just makes it pop a little bit more.

Classes are starting back up at Hobby Lobby!! Yay!! We will kick off the new year with a baby scrapbook class (but not just limited to people with babies, these work great for anyone). This layout, you can choose a boy or a girl layout. Currently only have pictures of the girl layout, the boy layout will be brown, blue and green with stars. November Scrapbook and Baby Scrapbook Class

So this month and next month the regular scrapbook and baby scrapbook class will be combined because the fourth Friday and Saturday fall on the holidays. But don't worry, you can make one or both layouts at the class. The Baby scrapbook class is featuring this layout, it's a both layout. Although you could probably change the wording and make it anything you wanted too. We will be using different tools to create this look.

This is the regular scrapbook class. It's a fall layout. You will be cutting leaves and the title out with the big shot. So much fun!!

Both these classes are on Friday, November 12th from 6-8 or Saturday, November 13th from 10-12. Class cost is $10 per layout and includes all your supplies, you just need scissors and adhesive. Glitter Christmas Ball Ornaments

Join me, Friday, November 5th from 10-11am to make these glitter Christmas balls. These are made with white "ice" glitter, then have a black vinyl saying on them. You can add the feathers to the top if you want, or do with out. These are so easy to make and fun! We will start with a clear ball and turn it into the glitter ball and then decorate the outside. So I've been working on a few Halloween projects and thought I would share them with you all!!

The first is Ella's Halloween card!! I made this in My Digital Studio. It was so easy!! We only sent a few out to family members but now you all can see it too.

These were my stamp club projects. We made a Frankenstein treat bag topper. This is made using the top note die and various circle punches. His nose is the round tab die. He's super easy to make!! The last thing is just a fun little witch card. It uses the stamp set Wicked Cool. I hope you all have a WICKED Halloween!! Let me know if you want anything from Stampin' Up!

I am having a scrapbook retreat, Saturday, August 28th from 3-9. It is a come and go type thing. All you have to do is bring your projects, scrapbook, Christmas cards, whatever it is you are working on up to Green Acres Baptist Church. We are going to be in room 103 in the AEB. I am going to have snacks, door prizes, a make n take, and supper for us. The supply fee is $7. So go ahead, get a baby sitter and enjoy your Saturday afternoon/evening sewing, scrapbooking, card making, or just hanging out. Hope you can make it!! This is a rag quilt I made with all Stampin' Up dies and our Big Shot!! I can't live with out my big shot and even though it is an expensive machine, I use it all the time and it has paid for itself in all the things I can do with it.

This is also the new die I got for my big shot. It's the mini milk carton die, it's so cute and tiny!! These would make great little gifts for co workers, kids, or friends. You could fill it up with candy or little gifts!

Ella Marie Hays

Ella Marie Hays was born on December 26, 2009 at 5:53am. She weighed 6 pounds and 13 ounces. She is 19 inches long. I awoke about 2am with some abdomen pain. It wasn't low on my stomach but very high and very painful. I went into our bathroom and started walking because it felt better and I didn't want to wake Cal up. He knocked on the door and asked if I was okay and I told him about how bad my stomach was hurting and that it sometimes came in waves. I didn't know if I was having contractions or not because it was so high up. We decided to call the Labor and Delivery nurse to see if she thought I should come in. She felt based on what I was describing that I just had an upset stomach and recommended that I take some tums. So at this point, Cal and my parents are awake. My parents thought I should go straight to the hospital because I was in labor, but Cal and I didn't know.

So I decided to take the tums, which in turn made me very sick to my stomach and I threw up. I immediately felt better and thought, yes that was all it was an upset stomach. So we all went to bed. As soon as I got back in bed I started to hurt again but it was different this time. It came in waves and it was intense pain. I got up and started pacing the bathroom again. I kept praying for some direction, the more I prayed the more I hurt. Then I threw up again. This time no relief. So I told Cal I thought we better go in. So we changed our clothes and loaded up to go to the hospital. I kept thinking this pain is too high to be contractions but maybe the hospital can give me something to make the pain better. It was the longest car trip of my life.

We get to the labor and delivery. I have to fill out all this paper work, the whole time I kept thinking can't they tell I am in pain. They take me to the room where they determine if you are in labor or not. I get the fetal monitor hooked up to me and they are taking my vitals. Then the nurse checks me and I am only dilated to a 1 cm. She told me the pain I was having wasn't effecting Ella and she was not in distress, which made me feel better. So I am thinking if I am not in labor what is this pain I am having. She keeps asking me about my blood pressure and all kinds of medical questions. Cal had to leave to go move the car and then the nurse asked him to wait outside for a few moments while she asked me "personal" questions. I hated that part when he wasn't there. The nurse said that the doctor would be in to see me soon and they would decide then if I was in labor or what was happening. So Cal gets back and shortly after that Dr Spencer comes in. She asked if my stomach was always so tight, which I said no. That was concerning her and the pain I was feeling that was so high up, they were worried maybe my placenta was trying to rupture or something like that, plus my blood pressure was rising. She felt the best thing to do was to have a C-Section and it would make it all go away. They weren't for sure if they were going to do the C section with me asleep or awake. So once again, they had Cal leave to go put on scrubs while they gave me an IV. Then only one nurse was in there. The next thing I know, two other nurses come rushing in and say she is going to sleep and we are taking her now. Then they are running me down the hallway towards the operating room. They are giving me oxygen, strapping me down, some guy is barking orders to everyone. It was very scary. I kept thinking this is it.

I asked about Cal and they told me he couldn't come in but everything would be okay. The next thing I know I wake up and turn and see Ella crying. Apparently my blood pressure had spiked up to over 200 and my liver was on the point of rupturing, which was causing all the pain. Later, Dr. Miller nurse said that he has only seen one case where the blood pressure spiked so rapidly and it was thirty years ago. But God was watching out for Ella and myself because Cal and I made it to the hospital in time and Dr. Spencer called for the C-section. We didn't get to leave the hospital until Tuesday because I had an abnormal amount of blood lose and had to get two packs of blood on Monday. We made it home on Tuesday and are loving every minute we spend with our precious little one.

36 Weeks

So here we are at 36 weeks. I can't believe I am already in my last month!! Where has the time gone. I am proud to say that Ella's room is just about finished. I have one project left and then I will post some pictures of it. This weekend my goal is to pack my bag so I will be ready if I go into labor. I feel very lucky in the fact that my pregnancy has gone by fast for me and has been pretty great. I am starting to have all the discomforts that tend to go along with the last month, not sleeping as well, ribs are hurting as she wedges her little feet against them, that sort of thing. All in all it hasn't been too bad. I am so ready to meet her though and look forward to becoming a mom. Just think, this time next month I will have a beautiful little girl!!

26 Weeks

So I haven't taken a baby bump picture in 6 weeks. So finally last night I took one. As you can see, we have Ella's crib and bedding set up but that is as far as her room has gotten. She is moving around alot more now, which is fun to feel. I am growing more everyday. I no longer can enjoy my favorite snack of cottage cheese, it was somehow giving me heart burn (weird). It's so funny looking at a picture of me at 20 weeks and then seeing me now and how much my baby bump has grown. I am really getting excited about meeting her and can't wait to see her. Now that her crib is set up I am ready for her to come now, well maybe not exactly ready considering all my craft stuff is all over her room, but def. getting excited to meet her. I just feel really blessed that the Lord has gifted me with a precious little girl and a healthy pregnancy so far.

Halloween Hat

I finally made my Halloween hat! It was so much fun to make and it didn't take me long at all. All you need is a hat, a feather boa, fabric and pipe cleaner sticks. Oh and a hot glue gun!

Here is a close up of the flowers. I used the SU Flower Folds die to make my 3 Fabric bows. Then I hot glued the flowers onto my hat. I can't wait to wear it even though it's a little big on my head!

Mom's Night Out Club

So I haven't updated my blog in a few days or weeks so I thought I would write a little today. I have been super busy doing who knows what, ever feel like that LOL. I have been working alot and scrapbooking alot but still need to take pictures so I can get them posted for you all. I have made some fabrics bows but not any for Ella yet, they have all been for mommy. Then I finally made my Boo Banner and it turned out so cute, I will def post some pictures as soon as I get it hung up on the mantle. We are decorating early for Halloween this year!
Our crib came in last week and our bedding is suppose to come in this week. So right now our office and guestroom is in a little bit of disorder. I worked so much last week that the house got neglected but I will tackle that today! If I don't keep putting it off. Junior League has officially started back up again and I have Mistletoe and Magic raffle tickets if anyone wants one!
My calendar is really starting to fill up, I don't know what it is but I find I like to book alot of things that way I find myself not waiting for Ella to get here. I just try and fill every day with so much stuff. I hope I can just keep track of it all. I def love doing projects and can not wait to start on her room. I put her 1st year scrapbook together over the weekend, so that was one project that I can cross off the list. Well until I get my pictures taken of the other things there isn't much else to tell.

Ella Hays

Yesterday we went in for our sonogram to see the baby and make sure everything was okay. It was a very exciting but nerve racking time in the waiting room. I tend to worry all the time, so there all kinds of random thoughts going through my head. But then we saw that God has blessed us with a healthy girl! Everything looked great and was perfectly normal. She is a very active little girl too! We almost didn't get a profile pic because she won't stay still long enough. It is just amazing. Then to see Cal watching her, with a smile so big, it justs filled my heart with so much love. It is definitely starting to really feel like I am pregnant, because not only is my stomach growing but I am starting to feel her moving around. Now that we know Ella is a girl, it makes it even more real to me that their is a little person in there. I can not wait to hold her in my arms, give her loads of hugs and kisses and just let her know how loved she is. Well here are some of Ella's first pictures (the first sonogram doesn't count because she looked like a peanut)!
I just thank my Father above for all the wonderful blessings He has given me.

Projects

So ever since I got back from Convention I have been wanting to take time to work on projects! Here are some of the ones that I have completed.

We finally added the Manhattan Flower Decor Elements to our bedroom wall. I have had these in my craft room for over a year I think. LOL! I think they turned out great!!

Then I made a bow using the Flower Folds Die with the Stampin' Up! Big Shot. These are so cute and I am going to make some into pins for Christmas gifts too. Hannah was chosen to model my first bow and I have to say she makes a wonderful model!! The bow is alot cuter on her than it is on me.

Then I made these little Halloween Treats! Aren't they super cute. I used the Sweet Treat Cups and Sweet Centers stamp set out of the new holiday mini! I am going to be doing a class for these in October or ppl can order them and I will make them up for them.

That is what I have been working on, when I have more I will post the new stuff! I have so many ideas just floating around in my head right now, better start working on them or I will forget!

So I have been working in my craft room and have made my Scrapbook page for September's class. I call it Crazy Circle Fun! Hope you all enjoy!! There is some stamping, punching, fraying of paper, and use of bright colors!!

Halloween Wreath

So I saw this wreath at convention, except that it was a Christmas themed one. I just had to make it when I got home. It takes 6, 12x12 sheets of paper. Cut the paper into 7/8 x 6 inch strips, curl using a bone folder (or a wooden ruler), then using straight pins, just attach to a green floral wreath. I think I am going to stamp some bats and candy corn and attach those to my wreath. Here is a picture of the wreath with just paper on it. It really didn't take that long to put together either. I just sat down in front of the tv last night and started cutting out my stripes and curling them. Took about an hour and half to make.

16 Weeks

So for those you who don't already know, I am 16 weeks pregnant. We are so excited and can not wait to find out what we are having. Should know in August sometime. I had my doctor's appointment today and got to hear the baby's heartbeat. I wish I could hear it everyday, it's just amazing to hear and realize that there is a person growing in you right at that moment. A little scary when you think of all the responsibility but who really thinks of that. I still have a long way to go but already I can't wait to meet and look at it. I can't wait to see what it's personality is going to be and what all God has in store for him/her. It's just so exciting!! So since we only have a month left to find out the sex, I am going to set up a Poll, so cast your vote!! The doc predicted girl based on the heartbeat, it was 168 last time and 156 this time.

Hobby Lobby Baby Scrapbook Class Layouts

Here they are, the layouts for my upcoming NEW Scrapbook class at Hobby Lobby (June 27th). We will be using some fun baby paper and then have die cuts from the Cricut machine. If interested in taking the class, it cost $10 and includes all the supplies to make the double layout. You just need to bring scissors and adhesive. Also, if interested let me know if you need a boy or girl layout. These are designed for a baby album and I will making several different types of layouts. I also want feedback from my mommies on what you want, like if you want bath time, sleeping, first stroller ride, anything really that you may have in mind. So here are the layouts :)

So I have a new Hobby Lobby class that I want to start up at the end of June. It's going to be a baby scrapbook class. I have a Baby Club that I already do, that has had such great response that I thought I would see if there was any interest with my Hobby Lobby clients. I will be posting the layouts on the blog, so be checking for them. The first class will be the 4th Saturday in June, from 10-Noon. Class cost will be $10. I will be making the layouts boy/girl specific so if you are interested in coming, I will need to know if you have a boy or a girl. I am really looking forward to this new class because it is always so much fun to create layouts for those precious little babies!!

Some wonderful women asked me to work on some baby layouts for when they bring their precious little ones home. So far this is what I have. Hope they like them. One had a boy and one is having a girl! I used Stampin' Up! paper (Walk in my Garden and Sweet Slumber), the Big Shot for all my stars, and my cricut for the butterflies and title.

The title hasn't been added to this one yet but it will say Love at 1st sight at the bottom.

Mom's Night Out: Chipboard

So at the next baby club I am introducing Chipboard to my mom's and mommies to be! The chipboard is from Stampin' Up! and called So Tweet, and the DS paper is Good Morning Sunshine. I actually scrap lifted this from a friend of mine and made some changes. I really like birds and think this layout is tweet!!

I worked on my Fruit of the Spirit Layouts and these are the last two layouts for that class. My favorite layout is the Self Control! Because like me it has some out of control issues going on!

Here is the one that I am def. lacking in and that is Patience!! I used the Manhattan Flower Embossing Plate on this layout to add some texture. I just love that plate, it's one of my favorite new toys.

So the past couple of weeks I have been making layouts like crazy and now I get to post them all on here for you to take a look at!! I really like the way they all turned out and you may be seeing them in a few classes.
This is one for a birthday. The cupcakes were made using Bella Rose DS paper and the Simple Birthday Thanks stamp set.

Give Thanks!! The bird was cut out using my Big Shot and the Red Sticky Tape Sheets, then I put beads on it!

Then the last one I did is one of my favorites! Three Words... I Love You!! This was made using my cricut and my big shot!! All the paper and flowers are from Stampin' Up! I challenged myself on this one because I wanted to do something on white paper.

Glass Etching

I love doing this!! Cal had to restrain me from trying to etch our glass back door!! Since I love it so much I wanted to share it with all my friends by offering a Glass Etching Class, the first in my Decor Series.
